About Me

Yumiko Pottery is the expression of my creative spirit, rooted in my mixed Japanese heritage and experiences living in Tokyo, Okinawa, Los Angeles, and Memphis. I now create from my home studio in Northern Kentucky, just outside of Cincinnati.

My pottery embraces an organic aesthetic, featuring rich textures and earth-inspired glazes. I strive for a natural, imperfect beauty in each piece. The Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, with its appreciation for the beauty of imperfection and transience, is a guiding principle in my creations. My aim is to bring a touch of grounded beauty to everyday life.
